Crochet 3D Butterfly Stitch / Free Pattern

Crochet 3D Butterfly Stitch is really unique and beautiful stitch. At first wiev, it could seems a little hard. But when you get your crochet rhytm for that pattern you can make it easily. But I want to be a honest it’s not a beginner friendly tutorial.

With this pattern ,you can make vests,scarfs,shawls and which you imagine. We want to give all the details here but if you get confused please check the video tutorial.

Stitches used

Chain: ch

Single crochet:sc

Double crochet:dc

Front post single crochet:fpsc

Stitch: st

Space: sp

Notes

When you see *( )** it means you repeat the instructions in between *( )** Where you see the word ​turn​ it means to turn your work clockwise and work back down the row.

Row 1: Make your chains,which you desire+Turn and insert your hook 4th st and make a dc+5 dc in each 5st+skip 2st+a sc in the 3th st+ch4+skip 2st+*(a dc in the 3th st+ch4+skip 2 st+a sc in the 3th st+ch4+skip 2st)** At the end of the make a dc+5dc in each 5 st.

Row 2:Ch4 and turn+5 dc in each 5 st+*(Ch6+make a dc in the dc of previous row)** At the end of the row ,you have 6 dc in each 6 st.



Row 3: Ch 4 and turn+5 dc in each 5 st*(make 5dc in Ch6 sp+a dc in the dc of previous row+make 5 dc in Ch6 sp+a dc in the dc of previous row+Ch4+make a sc Ch6 sp+Ch4+make a dc in the dc of previous row+Ch4+a sc in Ch6 sp+Ch4+make a dc in the dc of previous row)** At the end of the row ,you have 6 dc in each 6 st.

Row 4: Ch 4 and turn+5 dc in each 5 st*( make a dc over all dc of previous row+Ch6+make a dc of previous row+Ch6)** At the end of the row ,you have 6 dc in each 6 st.

Row 5:Ch 4 and turn+5 dc in each 5 st*( make a dc over all dc of previous row+Ch4+make a sc in Ch6 sp+Ch4+a dc in the dc of previous row+Ch4+make a sc in Ch6 sp+Ch4+a dc in the dc of previous row)**At the end of the row ,you have 6 dc in each 6 st.

Row 6:Ch 4 and turn+5 dc in each 5 st+make a dc over all dc of previous row+*(Ch12+insert your hook from the Row3’s last dc and join with a fpsc-you can see in photo1 and in video 11:50- than Ch3+make 6dc in Ch12 line+Ch6+insert your hook from the Row 3’s 6th dc and join with fpsc-you can see in photo 2 and in video 12:55– Ch3 and make 5 dc in Ch6 line+Ch6 and make a sl st with Row6’s 6th dc.+Ch3+6 dc in the Ch6 line+yarn over and insert your under  the Ch12 line and make 7 dc in it -you can see in video 14:34– and sl st to the start st of Ch12 line+Ch6+make a dc in the dc of previous row+make a dc over all dc of previous row)**At the end of the row, you have 6 dc in each 6 st.



Row 7: Ch 4 and turn+5 dc in each 5 st+Ch4+skip 2st+a sc in the 3th st+Ch4+skip 2 st+a dc in the 3th st+Ch4+skip 2st+a sc in the 3th st+Ch4+skip 2st+a dc in the 3th st+5dc in Ch6 sp+a dc in  the dc of previous row+5 dc in Ch6 sp+a dc in the dc of previous row+Ch4+skip 2st+a sc in the 3th st+Ch4+skip 2 st+a dc in the dc of previous rowt+Ch4+a sc in the 3th st+Ch4+a dc in the dc of previous row)**At the end of the row ,you have 6 dc in each 6 st. Dc groups which make butterflies on them continue scrolling. you can see in photo3-and in video 21:55.



To enlarge your  project,you should  repeat the row 4th-5th-6th and 7th rows over the dc groups.

Matching groups;

4th – 8th

5th – 9th

6th – 10th

7th – 11th Be careful these groups. when you come to the Row12th,can crochet as same as Row3 and keep crocheting next 4 rows.
