Crochet Brick Blanket Pattern

If you want to make an easy, colorful and good looking blanket this stitch is just for you. Brick blanket will keep you very warm with its perforated structure as well as it looks very nice.

Feel free to use all the colors of the rainbow while crocheting this blanket. Aunt Johanne created this mosaic square and you can also see the video tutorial below.

Any size yarns and hook you choose.

Use the lighter colours for the brick effect and a dark color for the edge.

Stitches used

Chain: ch

Double crochet:dc

Half Double Crochet: hdc

Single Crochet: sc

Stitch: st

Start (with edge color): a number of ch which is divisible by 10.

Row 1: Turn and make 1 sc in each st

Row 2 – 3 (use second color): ch 1 (1 sc, 1 hdc, 5 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, ch 1) skip next st and repeat this as long as you need.

Row 4 (with edge color): ch 1. 1 sc in next 9 sts, 1 long dc over the two ch-spaces and into the skipped stitch underneath (for more detail, please watch the video)

Row 5: ch 1. 1 sc in each st.

Row 6 – 7 (use third color): ch 2(as a dc), 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, ch 1, skip next st, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 5 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, ch 1) skip st and repeat until end. At the end, make another half stone: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc

Row 8 (with edge color): ch 1. 1 sc in next 5 sts, dc into the skipped st, (1 sc in next 9 sts, 1 dc into the skipped st) repeat until end.
